Police has been heavily deployed at Makerere University following students’ intetion to challenge the university administration over a deadline for payment of tuition dues.
Angry students are protesting the decision to have all students pay up to 80% of their tuition before March 8th lest miss out on lectures, course works and tests. They are saying this is unfair as most of them have to toil as the semester goes on to meet their tuition.
They have asked the Vice Chancellor Prof. Ddumba Ssentam to intervene and re-think on this decision lest they will go ahead and protest it.
