The Uganda Cranes today face Mauritania in a build up game to the Championships of African Nations (CHAN) football tournament at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole at 4pm.

FUFA (Federation of Uganda Football Associations) organized the friendly so that the local based players can get some exposure for the much anticipated CHAN tournament that kicks off in South Africa on 11th January, announced the friendly late but fans are expected to cheer on their team.

Defender Dennis Iguma Hassan Wasswa, Yassar Mugerwa, Rogers Aloro, Ali Kimera, Olaki, Sentamu, Asiku and Simon Okwi are expected to play in order to get back their fitness levels.

Uganda’s head coach Micho said, “This game will give us a real test and the necessary match practice before the team flies out for the Championships.”

Entrance fee to the stadium is Ushs. 5000. The team has been in non-residential training for two weeks.
