The Uganda Cubs progressed to the second round of the 2015 African under-17 championship qualifiers after they eliminated Seychelles 3-0 and 5-1 on aggregate on Saturday at Lugogo.
The Cubs who were playing their first home game since 2010 when they were suspended for using an over-aged player set up a meeting against Rwanda.
Charles Ssebutinde netted in the fourth minute. The Cubs kept pressing on attack and a second goal was scored in the 13th minute by Alex Komakech. Emmanuel Olinga netted Uganda’s third with a long range strike in the 31st minute.
Both sides missed penalties in the second half. The cubs had earlier won the first leg 2-1. They’ll play Rwanda on July 18.
