UCU Set For East Africa Police Games

UCU Ready for EA Games

OVER 400 athletes are gathered at Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono ahead of the opening ceremonies of the first ever East Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation organisation (EAPCCO) games slated for tomorrow (Friday) till Wednesday next week.

Participating countries include Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Sudan, S.sudan, Burundi and Uganda (host). These will compete in football, athletics, netball, boxing among others. “According to our experience this a very small number of people to manage with our resources,” said Rev. Canon Dr. John Ssenyonyi, Vice Chancellor of UCU.

These games are organised by Uganda police in partnership with Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) headed by William Blick. Opening ceremonies will include among others a cross country run with chief runner being Uganda’s IGP, Gen. Kale Kayihura, social corporate responsibility in Mukono town and the football match between Uganda and Kenya.
