The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has postponed party primaries which were slanted to take place today Monday 26th October to tomorrow, Tuesday 27th.
The decision was announced late last night in a press release signed by party deputy electoral commission chairman, Kigyagi Arimpa John.
Party electoral commission chairman Dr Tanga Odoi earlier this morning noted the change was always within their making saying the move had defeated all those who planned to rig the primaries.
To further explain the postponement, Odoi noted the commission would not have delivered credible elections had polling material arrived late.
2,700 aspirants are expected to tussle it out in the NRM primaries, each hoping to be elected one of the party’ss 375 flag bearers for parliamentary seats in the 2016 election.
