Prof. Gilbert Bukenya’s resignation from the post of Vice president came hours before President Museveni announced to the NRM caucus which sat at State House Entebbe that he had appointed former House Speaker, Edward Ssekandi as his next Vice President, replacing the man many call Mahogany.
Prof Gilbert Bukenya was informed on Monday that he would be dropped and this prompted news wires with headlines like “MAHOGANY UPROOTED”.
More appointments are to follow with Security minister Amama Mbabazi as the new Prime Minister, Ephraim Kamuntu in the Finance Ministry frame and Adolf Mwesige, Freddie Ruhindi, Prof. Khidhu Makubuya tipped as Attorney General contenders.
