President Yoweri Museveni has called upon all leaders to sensitize the public on the importance of singing the East African Anthem.
President Museveni said this on Friday as he commissioned off a new power line project in Mubende district.
“Your leaders have forgotten to teach you the East African Anthem. This is important because we need the markets,” Museveni said.
He also noted that Juba in South Sudan has problems now and many of Ugandans are trapped there because they were looking for money. “
Everything that we do needs a market,” he added.
Museveni’s concern about the anthem was because many people sing only the National anthem and ignore the East African anthem which is a symbol of the region’s integration.
