Comedian Anne Kansiime’s star looks not to light out soon! From introducing her fiancé to winning various awards and lucrative deals. The latest at our desk has it that the kid-like-comedian has yet again added another accolade to her list.
According to Johnson Mujungu, Kansiime’s manager, the former MiniBuzz host is to receive a honorarium and an Award at the Afro Australian Music & Movie Awards in September.
However, the he Don’t Mess With Kansiime host is not new to awards having won over five international awards among which include AIRTEL Women of Substance Awards 2014, BEFFTA 2013 (Best Comedian), Lagos International Film Festival 2013 (Best Actress), Social Media Awards (Favorite Celebrity 2013) and African Social Awards Malaysia (ASAM).
The awards saw a rise in Kansiime’s popularity and so was her wallet too!
The comedian shortly after winning her first award got a lucrative advertising deal with Uganda Telecom, a mobile service provider in the country.
This increased the weight of her wallet and market the end of her presence at NTV Uganda’s show MiniBuzz, a show she had hosted for over four years.
With her increased popularity and value thanks to the several awards in her wardrobe, Kansiime got another fatty deal from Kenyan based Tv station Citizen, where she hosts a weekly show under the name Don’t Mess With Kansiime.
As though the awards were not enough, the comedian was invited and March 10 2014 performed before Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Commonwealth Day reception in London.
Here she got a chance to rub shoulders with several high profile people among which included the Commonwealth Secretary General and his wife and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will also be in attendance.
