The Uganda Cranes coached by ‘Micho’ Sredojevic have a chance to reach last eight of CHAN tournament quarter finals if they beat Zimbabwe in their second Group B match at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.

Micho told reporters, ’’You have to treat each game like a final match. Although we have beaten Burkina Faso, we made some mistakes in the set pieces and that means we must be alert against Zimbabwe.”

The lads are optimistic they will beat their opponents to qualify for the last eight after their 2-1 win over Burkina Faso on Sunday.
Partson Jaure, captain of Zimbabwe warned the Uganda Cranes ahead of their CHAN fixture saying his team needs the three pints more than the cranes.

“Yes we respect Uganda, but we need the three points more than they do. We are very hungry to get our first win of the group and we know we can stop Uganda,”, Jaure told reporters.

The Cranes lead Group B after their 2-1 victory over Burkina Faso while Zimbabwe and Morocco share second spot after their goalless draw in the group’s opening match.

The team lost all their three matches in the last edition of the Chan tourney held in Sudan. Yunus Ssentamu and skipper Denis Iguma are expected to lead the striking force. The game kicks off at 6pm.
