Albinos in Uganda have asked the media to expose parents who deny their children because of being Albinos.
Speaking during the breakfast meeting on media reporting on disability rights, the chairperson of Uganda Albino association Jude SSebyanzi said the association has received a number of complaints from mothers whose children have been denied by their fathers because of being albinos. Ssebyanzi who is an albino himself, says many parents especially fathers have regarded albinism as a curse and so by exposing them this will stop the act
The Albinos also demand for special recognition in parliament, by having a special representative in the house. Ssebyanzi says on top of not allowing them to participate in elections of the PWDS representatives, the mps representing the disabled people have not represented their interests
