Uganda Federal Alliance president, Beti Kamya has been discharged from International Hospital Kampala, where she was admitted on Saturday Jan 19th, following abdominal complications.

Ms Winnie Byanyima, the wife of Inter-Party presidential candidate, Dr Kizza Besigye, has said she misses Ms Betty Kamya in the Forum for Democratic (FDC) party.

Ms Kamya was suspended from the FDC in 2009 for alleging that party leaders were intolerant and worse than the ruling NRM, which she described as dictatorial. She later formed her own political party, the Uganda Federal Alliance (UFA). She is the UFA presidential candidate.

‘Hardworking Kamya’
“I really miss Betty Kamya. She was a very hardworking lady and I hope that one time, she will return (to FDC),” Ms Byanyima said after paying a courtesy call on Ms Kamya at the International Hospital Kampala yesterday where she is admitted.

She wished Ms Kamya a quick recovery, adding that Dr Besigye also looks forward to her recuperation. Ms Kamya is expected to be discharged from hospital today. Ms Kamya was admitted to the hospital last week and underwent surgery for intestinal complications.
