Uganda is Travel Safe Despite Ebola Outbreak – WHO

WHO and Uganda Ministry of Health team confirm the Ebola outbreak & a team is deployed to fully contain the virus and further spread

The World Health Organization (WHO) has not recommended that any travel or trade restrictions be applied to Uganda following an outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Kibaale district in the south-western part of the country.

Since the beginning of the outbreak last month, there have been 36 suspected cases of the virus, which has thus far claimed 16 lives.

According to information published accross WHO twitter page accessed at @WHO, it said “No infections with Ebola have occurred outside Kibaale district, Uganda

No cases of the disease have been reported in capital city, Kampala.

Most well known for its population of the rare mountain gorilla, Uganda is home to the highest mountain range in Africa (the Mountains of the Moon in the Rwenzori National Park), is the source of the Nile River and offers some of the best white water rafting in the world.
